Following the acquisition of Focuslight Switzerland SA in 2024, the company has taken decisive steps to meet the increasing demand for rapid delivery and high-volume production in the optical communication and high-tech industries. By harnessing Switzerland’s advanced engineering expertise and Asian large-scale manufacturing capabilities, Focuslight is setting new industry benchmarks for quality, efficiency, and speed.

To reinforce its commitment to supply chain stability and efficiency, Focuslight has expanded its state-of-the-art backend facility in Dongguan, China, for backend processing the high-precision micro-optics wafers manufactured using photolithography and reactive ion-etching (RIE). Completed in Q4-2024, this facility now serves as a core global hub for high-volume production, ensuring faster and more reliable supply to customers worldwide. With its current presence of Focuslight in Singapore, the company also has the flexibility to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, further catering to specific customer demands in the future.

Effective January 1, 2025, all backend production processes for photolithography and RIE micro-optics—including optical coating, dicing, cleaning, packing and final inspection—will be conducted at the Dongguan facility, with alternative options are available for customers who require their supply chain to be fully located outside of China. This strategic realignment enhances operational efficiency while upholding highest international quality standards. Notably, all wafer-level fabrication will remain in Switzerland, preserving the Swiss country of origin (COO) classification for these products.

To ensure a smooth transition, Focuslight has conducted a comprehensive internal qualification process at the Dongguan facility, reinforcing transparency and building customer confidence in the new production setup.
