Focuslight Launched the New Series (Continuous) of Single-Bar HCS02 Hard-Soldered Conduction Cooling Semiconductor Laser

In July of 2013, Focuslight Technologies Inc. announced the launch of HCS02, a new series (continuous) of single-bar hard-soldered conduction cooling semiconductor laser. The new series currently includes two models, FL-HCS02-50(W)-808(nm)-3 and FL-HCS02-40(W)-808(nm)-3.

Comparing to indium soldering, the indium-free hard soldering method is characterized by high-temperature resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, difficult oxidation, long storage life, stable performance, reduced electron migration, and electrothermal migration, etc., and greatly improves the reliability of the device. For devices requiring high reliability and long storage life, the storage life of high power semiconductor laser fabricated using fully indium-free packaging technology can be extended to more than ten years, compared with the indium solder with a storage life of only 3-5 years. The specifications and performance of this series are internationally competitive.

The HCS02 series is very applicable to industrial and scientific applications, especially in hard pulse-on and off operation applications, as well as laser pumping, laser printing, medical applications, etc.

The materials of this series meet the requirements of environmental protection as well as the RoHs standard.
